LUMI is a group exhibition featuring 6 artists: Jana Schirmer, Naomi Baker, Lena Richards, Angi Pauly Llobet, Pauline voß and Yangtian Li, who are all professional artists working in the entertainment industry. While they mainly create digital art as professionals, they have grouped to create traditional pieces to bring their digital influences onto canvas with a modern touch. The pieces will feature a variety of different mediums, such as watercolour, marker, ink and colour pencils, some may be embellished with unconventional iridescent materials.
LUMI is about experimenting with colour, light and graphics. While colour and light has been a subject for centuries, LUMI offers a modern perspective with graphical iridescent elements. It doesn’t necessarily mean that every piece will have unconventional materials, but LUMI will focus on creating physical artwork that embracing a current and modern trend in this digital age.
About the Artists
Yangtian Li is a freelance concept designer and illustrator working in the entertainment industry. She has worked on games including Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Black Ops IV, Vainglory, Figureheads, and multiple mobile games. Other than games, she has also worked on book illustrations and has taken a great interested in her own publications recently.

Jana Schirmer is a self taught artist currently working at Marvel Studios. She was previously a gallery artist here in the May-July 2018 show “Women of Art”.

Pauline Voß is a 2002-2004 student of Jost Heyder (painter of the New Leipzig School and student of Gerhard Kettner). She had her first exhibition: 2007 in Germany, Erfurt in Gallery 'Artick'.

Naomi Baker is an east coast native who has worked in studios and freelance for 10+ years. Notable studios are Wizards of the Coast, Activision, Blur and Arena Net. She is currently a Senior Concept Artist at Sucker Punch Productions in Bellevue, Washington.

Lena Richards was born and raised in Ukraine, moved to US in 2014. Being raised in orthodox Slavic country, exposure to traditional Byzantine icons and old manuscripts created a fascination and a passion for creating similar artworks. The interest was cultivated through her teenage years and turned into staple in her art by using gold leaf and old Cyrillic calligraphy. She is more professionally known as a fantasy illustrator and concept artist since 2006.
